PITTSBURGH - PHILADELPHIA - NEW YORK CITY
Ramita Ravi is a professional dancer based in New York City. Raised in Pittsburgh, Ramita trained for 20 years in styles including ballet, contemporary, tap, and hip-hop and Bharatanatyam. She earned the national title of Miss Headliner 2013 under the guidance of Julia Coxon Saltsman and Debbie Rogers at Dancer's Edge by Rogers - and she completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram in 2009 under Guru Smt. Jaya Mani.
In 2017, Ramita graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied Health & Societies with a minor in Urban Education Policy and concentration in Public Health. At Penn, she was Chair of the Dance Arts Council on Penn's Performing Arts Council Exec Board and Chair & Artistic Director of Arts House Dance Company.
After graduation, Ramita moved to NYC to pursue dance professionally. Recent performance credits include Viceland, NowThis, ClassPass Live, Kitty & Vibe, Good Morning America, Pittsburgh Today Live and more. She currently tours with Mystic India: The World Tour and has performed at the Lincoln Center, Intrepid, Symphony Space, and more. She has taught classes at renowned venues including Broadway Dance Center, Columbia University, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
Alongside dance, Ramita has worked at a variety of startups including AdviceCoach, TEDMED, and MELA Arts Connect. She is eager to bridge art and entrepreneurship - with goals to elevate underrepresented voices and innovate the performing arts industry. She hopes to empower creatives who will undoubtedly change the world.
